Ukraine railway product exports drop 9% m/m in January

Ukraine’s exports of railway products amounted to 11.3 kt in January, 9% less m/m and 13% below their average 2021 level, according to Concorde Capital’s analysis of State Customs Service’s goods exports data.

 

Exports to Russia amounted to 0.5 kt in January, 14% more m/m and 23% less than the 2021 average of 0.7 kt per month.

 

Exports to Belarus amounted to 3.7 kt in January, 2.1x more m/m and 22% lower than the 2021 average of 4.8 kt per month.

 

The average export price for railway products slid 1% m/m in January to USD 1,548/t.

 

Ukraine’s largest railway wheel producer is Interpipe (INTHOL), which in 2021 exported about 146 kt of railway products (12.2 kt per month).
