2008 privatization proceeds total UAH 480 mln

According to preliminary data from the State Property Fund, privatization proceeds last year totaled UAH 480.8 mln (about USD 62 mln). This corresponds to 79.36% of the budgeted goal from the Ministry of Finance, which was lowered in Nov. 2008. Andrii Parkhomenko: The 2009 state budget assumes proceeds of UAH 8.5 bln from privatization. However, the target already hardly looks attainable, which could force Ukraine to lend more to cover its fiscal deficit.
