Retail sales in Ukraine advances 10% yoy in 7M19

Retail sales advanced 10.1% yoy in real terms in 7M19,
somewhat slowing down from 10.3% yoy in 1H19, Ukraine’s State Statistics
Service reported on Aug. 20. In July, retail increased 9.0% yoy and 4.8% m/m in
real terms.

 

Regionally, the highest retail growth in 7M19 occurred
in the Vinnytsia (18.0% yoy), Ternopil (17.0% yoy) and Odesa (16.2% yoy)
regions. It was slowest in the Chernivtsi (0.0% yoy), Chernihiv (1.7% yoy) and
Kherson (2.3% yoy) regions.

 

Evgeniya Akhtyrko: Retail sales continue to demonstrate robust growth. We expect real
retail to increase 8-9% yoy in 2019 (vs. 5.8% yoy in 2018).
