Zelenskiy has overwhelming lead over Poroshenko, poll says

11 April 2019

At least 60% of Ukrainians will vote for Volodymyr
Zelenskiy in the second-round runoff vote scheduled for Apr. 21, according to
the Rating Sociological Group. About 24% will vote for President Petro Poroshenko
while about 15% of voters are undecided, according to the poll of 3,000
respondents conducted between Apr. 5 and 10. Among decided voters, about 71%
will vote for Zelenskiy and 29% for Poroshenko.

Zenon Zawada: Zelenskiy’s
victory is inevitable, barring any force majeure events. If the claims of his
advisers are true that Poroshenko won’t cling to office,
we advise our clients to start preparing for a turbulent remainder of the year
under a Zelenskiy presidency.
