Ukraine’s State Property Fund sold on Aug. 22 a 99.5%
stake in the Ivano-Frankivsk Locomotive Overhaul Plant at its starting price of
UAH 33.9 mln, the fund reported the same day. The buyer was the Ivano-Frankivsk
City Council. The fund also reported that one bidder has signed up for the
privatization tender of a 25% stake in power DisCo Sumyoblenergo (SOEN UZ) with
a starting price of UAH 370 mln that is scheduled for Aug. 23.
Another tender scheduled for today, involving a 25%
stake in power GenCo Donbasenergo (DOEN UK), has been cancelled due to a lack
of bidders. Most likely, it will be rescheduled for Aug. 30. The fund also
reported the auction of a 25% stake in power DisCo Odesaoblenergo (ODEN UK) –
which was scheduled for Aug. 22 but lacked a bidder – has been rescheduled for
Aug. 29.
Alexander Paraschiy: August is
going to be the best month in the last four years for Ukraine’s privatization
agency. With four 25%-99% stakes already sold, the fund has accumulated UAH
1.35 bln in privatization proceeds this month, which is more than for the three
previous years cumulatively (UAH 0.95 bln).
