UN fails to include Donbas fighters in terrorism report

In its estimate on the number of terrorists in the world, the United Nations didn’t count thousands of terrorists in the Donbas region of Ukraine who are waging a hybrid war, said on July 25 Ivanna Klympush-Tsyntsadze, the vice prime minister for European and Euro-Atlantic integration for Ukraine. The list of terrorist organizations also doesn’t mention those governments that sponsor the terrorists and coordinate their actions, she told a Ukrainian television network.
Zenon Zawada: The failure to include the Donetsk and Luhansk fighters in its terrorism report speaks to the failure of the Ukrainian government to raise public awareness and achieve the necessary political recognitions, particularly in the UN. Recall in June, a Ukrainian diplomat expressed his outrage over remarks prepared by the UN secretary general that failed to acknowledge Russia as the main source of warfare in Ukraine. But rather than blaming the UN, Ukrainian diplomats should consider what they’re doing wrong in their information and perceptions war with Russia.
