Centrenergo restarts its damaged power plant

Centrenergo restarts its damaged power plant

3 August 2015

Centrenergo (CEEN UK) was able to restart its Vuhlehirsk (Uglegorsk) Thermal Power Plant on August 1, the company reported in its Aug. 03 press release. Some of power grids of the station were damaged by artillery shelling on July 27 which made the station idle. Now the station is working with two power units, of three available for work.

Uglegorsk TPP is located just 20 km from the railroad hub of Debaltseve, which was occupied by Russian-backed terrorists and Russian special forces in February 2015.

Alexander Paraschiy: The prompt repair of Uglegorsk TPP is encouraging news. Though, this does not change the fact that Uglegorsk TPP, as well as entire Centrenergo, Centrenergo’s another power plant, Zmiyiv TPP, is nearly running out of coal and the plant can be stopped any time.
