Mining industry veteran appointed minister

Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych appointed on Feb. 5 Mykhaylo Korolenko as industrial policy minister. He is distinguished as chairing the Southern Iron Ore Enrichment Plant (PGZK UK), which was part of Smart Holding, controlled by Ukrainian Vadym Novynskiy. Korolenko also worked as an executive in Metinvest, controlled by Ukrainian Rinat Akhmetov.
