Avangard ups laying hen flock 7% yoy, egg sales 12% yoy in October 2012

Ukraine’s leading egg producer Avangard (AVGR LI) reported 7% yoy growth in its laying hen flock to 21.6 mln and 13% yoy growth in its total poultry flock to 27.8 mln, according to a trading update released on Nov. 16. The company increased egg production 3% yoy to 549 mln and egg sales 12% yoy to 509 mln units in October. Avangard reported average October egg prices were up 25% compared to August and up 3% compared to October 2011, citing external research. October consumer egg prices grew 21% compared to August and fell 7% yoy, according to UkrStat.
