The second unit of the world’s largest An-225 aircraft, designed to carry oversized payloads, might be produced by 2015, the head of Antonov production plant said on Nov. 14. Antonov is currently unable to finance the assembling of the aircraft, but the firm is negotiating with undisclosed potential customers to provide financing, he said. The An-225 Mriya is equipped with six D-18 turbofan engines manufactured by Motor Sich (MSICH UK). The only An-225 produced so far is operated by Antonov Airlines.
