Daily steel output inches down 1% in June

Steel production in Ukraine declined 4% mom to 2.8 mmt in June, which implies daily output of 93 kt (-1% mom), Interfax reported yesterday. In 6M12, steel output was down 3% yoy to 16.8 mmt.

Roman Topolyuk: Daily steel output in June was expectedly lower than in May on weaker prices and market demand. We do not believe the downtrend in the sector will reverse before August.
