Russia reinstates certificate for Kremenchuk Casting

Russia reinstates certificate for Kremenchuk Casting

6 March 2012

Russian authorities reinstated the quality certificate of Kremenchuk Casting last Friday, Kommersant reported today. Kremenchuk Casting is the supplier of bogie frames for 40% of CIS-made wagons, including those of Ukraine’s Stakhaniv Wagon (SVGZ UK) and Kryukiv Wagon (KVBZ UK); its quality certificate was suspended in early February.

Roman Dmytrenko: As we expected, Kremenchuk Casting’s quality certificate was suspended for political reasons and would be reinstated following the conclusion of the Russian presidential election campaign. This is also in line with last week’s statement by Kryukiv Wagon’s CEO, who did not expect any effect from casting issues on the company’s wagon output in March/April (see our news dated March 1).
