Rolled steel output rises by 10.8% y-o-y, pellet output drops 3% y-o-y in 9M11

Production of rolled steel in Ukraine increased by 10.8% y-o-y to 22.8 mln mt in 9M11, while crude steel output grew by 8% y-o-y to 26.0 mln mt, and pig iron production rose by 6% y-o-y to 21.5 mln mt, according to Ministry of Industrial Policy (via Interfax). Mining enterprises increased production of iron ore by 3% y-o-y to 59.4 mln mt, iron ore concentrate by 2% y-o-y to 49.0 mln mt, while pellet output dropped by 3% y-o-y to 16.3 mln mt.
