Ukrainian Education Dmytro Tabachnyk will be dismissed as part of the biggest shakeup to Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers since it was appointed last year, Serhiy Lyovochkin, head of the presidential administration, said yesterday at a press conference, according to Unian. Lyovochkin said “substantial changes” would be made to the cabinet, but did not provide further details. Brad Wells: Tabachnyk, a Ukrainophone and Russophile politician who personally took up the task of rewriting Ukrainian history books, has easily been the most divisive figure in the cabinet. His removal will be cheered, especially in Western Ukraine, no matter the replacement and could go some way toward mitigating the government’s plummeting approval ratings.
