Warsaw Exchange launches WIG-Ukraine index

The Warsaw Stock Exchange announced yesterday that it was launching the WIG-Ukraine index, starting calculations and publishing the index as of May 4. It is the first and only index outside Ukraine whose portfolio is comprised of only Ukrainian stocks. WIG-Ukraine includes companies that have at least 10% free float and shall be revised on a quarterly basis. WIG-Ukraine is a total return index and includes dividends and subscription rights. The index base date is December 31, 2010 and index base value is 1,000. Yesterday, May 4, the index registered a 0.46% decline to 908.98, as all components except Kernel (+0.56%) finished lower.
