Metinvest exports 900 ths mt of iron ore by sea in January

Metinvest reported this morning that it exported 894 ths mt of iron ore by sea in January, mostly via Capesize class vessels. Metinvest Iron Ore Director Alexander Vilkul said that this volume of iron ore shipments by sea is a record for Ukraine. Metinvest said that it previously shipped about 600 ths mt of concentrate to China per month. Metinvest began shipments of iron ore to China via Capesize vessels in November 2009. Metinvest controls iron ore makers Pivnichny Iron Ore (SGOK UK), Centralny Iron Ore (CGOK UK) and Inguletsky Iron Ore (IGOK UZ).
