Rada extends moratorium on land sale to 2012

Rada extends moratorium on land sale to 2012

23 December 2009

Yesterday the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved law #3524 in the first reading; the proposed law extends the moratorium on the sale of agricultural land by two more years until January 1, 2012. The draft law does not cancel out provisions of the land code that would allow for the sale of agricultural land after parliament adopts laws “On the land market” and “On the state land cadastre”. The moratorium has been in effect since 2002. The law will next go up for second reading in the Rada.
