Ukrainian Defense Ministry orders 2 An-70s

Ukrainian Defense Ministry orders 2 An-70s

31 August 2009

The Ukrainian Defense Ministry placed an order for two An-70 military-transport aircraft to be delivered in 2010-2011. Yegor Samusenko: These first orders for An-70s from the Defense Ministry confirm the restart of active work on the An-70 airplane, which was frozen after Russia exited the An-70 program in 2006. Though, in our view, the market should wait for official orders from the Russian Defense Ministry for An-70s before counting on the renewal of this project. For Motor Sich (MSICH), which produces engines for the An-70, the start of production would mean the creation of an additional business segment, which could account for up to 20% of its expected USD 600 mln in sales by the mid-2010s.
