Ukraine harvests 35 mln mt of grain by August 12

Ukraine collected 35 mln mt of grain as of August 12, said Yuriy Melnyk, Minister of Agrarian Policy yesterday (via Interfax). According to Melnyk, more than 90% of the area planted with spring grains and legumes has been harvested. The Ministry of Agrarian Policy is forecasting a grain harvest of 42-43 mln mt this year (vs. 53.3 mln mt in 2008).
