IMF to approve USD 3.3 bln third loan tranche to Ukraine

13 July 2009

The International Monetary Fund said on Friday that it reached a technical agreement to disburse a USD 3.3 bln tranche to Ukraine. The transfer of the funds can be made after the IMF’s board meets in early August. IMF mission head Ceyla Pazarbasioglu said Ukraine met quantitative criteria for the allocation of the tranche, including net international reserves and monetary base, while at the same time has made good progress in strengthening its banking system.
