Tihipko to unload assets ahead of presidential bid

Ukrainian businessman Serhiy Tihipko said yesterday that he planned to sell off a substantial portion of his assets, including Kryukiv Wagon (KVBZ) in connection with his decision to stand for president of Ukraine, Interfax reported. Tihipko said specifically that negotiations were underway on the potential sale of his insurance and railroad car businesses. In particular, Tihipko indicated that possible suitors for Kryukiv Wagon included Transmashholding and other Russian machine building holdings. Tihipko’s TAS Group also controls Dniprovahonmash (DNVM) and the TAS Insurance Group.
