Ukrzernoprom Agro to reduce production 8.5% yoy in 2009

Ukrzernoprom Agro/MCB Agricole (4GW1 GR) said yesterday in a press release that it planned to reduce crop production by 8.5% yoy to 215 ths mt in 2009, due primarily to poor weather. The company said it expected to harvest 118.2 ths mt of wheat, 33.9 mt of rapeseed, 9.0 mt of winter barley, 9.5 mt of rye, 20.7 mt of spring barley, 6.8 mt of corn, 15.7 mt of sunflower and 1.2 mt of peas. The company said that it started its spring 2009 harvesting campaign on June 18, and expected to complete the season by August 10.
