Industrial output falls 31.8% yoy in April

According to the State Statistics Committee, Ukraine’s industrial production declined 31.8% yoy in April, down from a fall of 30.4% yoy a month ago. In April industrial production decreased 4.8% mom. Decline in industrial output was caused mostly by a 7.1% mom decline in metallurgy and 20.4% mom fall in utilities (marking an end of the heating season). Most other sectors showed better numbers in April: food processing grew 6.4% mom, coke and oil increased 6.2% mom, chemicals declined 1.4% mom, machine building shed 2.5% mom.
