Obolon to export barley malt and brewer's grain

Obolon, the Ukrainian brewery, said in a press release (via Interfax) that it planned to launch exports of barley malt and brewer’s grain that it will produce in-house. The company said it expected to export 10 ths mt of malt in 2009. It said it is aware of interest from Slovenia, Russia, Germany and the Baltic states – and is in negotiations to export brewer’s grain to Great Britain, Poland and elsewhere. Obolon brought a new malt house onstream in Khmelnitsky region at end-2008; it is capable of making 120 ths mt of malt each year.
