CPI growth slows to 15.6% yoy, PPI to 6.3% yoy in April

The State Statistics Committee released on its website yesterday official CPI growth figures for April, which indicated inflation continued to decelerate since the beginning of the year. CPI was up 15.6% yoy in April, down from 18.1% yoy in March. Consumer prices rose 0.9% mom in April, driven by prices for food products, up 1.2% mom; alcohol and tobacco, up 2.1% mom, and household appliances, up 1.1% mom. Meanwhile PPI also slowed to 6.3% yoy (off from 12.8% yoy in March).
