GenCos decrease power production 21.3% yoy in 2M09

According to Energobiznes, Ukrainian power generation companies decreased power production by 21.3% yoy in 2M09. The only generation company that raised its production was Donbasenergo (DOEN): +18.7% yoy, the result of increased load at Slaviansk power plant, and a new unit at Starobeshev plant operating in a testing mode. All the other GenCos decreased in output in 2M09: Dniproenergo (DNEN): down 40.0% yoy; Centrenergo (CEEN): down 25.9% yoy; Zakhidenergo (ZAEN): down 7.8% yoy; and private Vostokenergo: down 23.7% yoy.
