Kyivstar GSM gets WiMax license

Kyivstar GSM obtained a WiMax license from the sector regulator to provide WiMax services at a frequency of over 5470-5590 MHz, Kommersant reported today. The license reportedly cost UAH 1.14 mln. Infokom and Novatek also received licenses. Kyivstar refused to comment on its plans for use of the license, though Kommersant sources indicated it could be utilized to provide broadband data transmission.
