Vneshekonombank said yesterday that it has given Ukraine’s Prominvestbank USD 390 mln, the first tranche in a USD 1 bln credit line approved by the Russian bank’s supervisory council. Head of the Temporary Administration of Prominvestbank and National Bank of Ukraine Deputy Chair Vladimir Krotyuk said yesterday that he expected a second USD 325 mln tranche by February 20, and USD 385 mln by March 20. Vneshekonombank agreed to acquire a 75%+3 stake in Prominvestmbank in Jan. 2009. Prominvestbank was Ukraine’s #11 largest bank by assets as of Oct. 1, 2008.
