Gross External Debt Boosts 36.4% in 3Q07 YTD

The National Bank of Ukraine reported that the gross external debt totaled USD 74.3 bln, a rise of 36.4% YTD. Public debt increased 2.5% YTD to USD 13.2 bln. Debt in the banking sector reached USD 25.7 bln, growing 82.5% YTD. Debt in other sectors climbed 28.5% YTD to USD 31.8 bln. Gross external debt accounts for 52.9% of our 2007 GDP forecast (USD 140.5 bln).
