Export Duty on Russian Crude Oil Rises 10%

Following its bimonthly review of duties on crude oil exported from Russia, the Russian government decided that starting from December, 1 2007, the duty would increase 10% to USD 275.4 per mt, according to Ukrainian News. The Russian Ministry of Finance contends the increase is caused by surging oil prices around the world.
