Head of the Zaporizhya Regional Administration Alexander Starukh said yesterday that Zaporizhya Ferroalloy (ZFER) currently has loaded 10% of its production capacity. Starukh said that the plant is planning to switch to a 3-day workweek and has accumulated a three-month supply of inventory. Andriy Gerus: As with the situation surrounding Nikopol Ferroalloy’s (NFER) announcement yesterday, the main issue is steel: low demand and decreased output has led to lower demand for ferroalloy – a situation we expect will begin to reverse in early 2009.
