World Bank Official Sees 2007 GDP Up 6-7%.

The World Bank’s departing country director told a press conference yesterday that he expected 6-7% real GDP growth in 2007 and less than 10% inflation. Tom Warner: Although not an official World Bank forecast, optimism about Ukraine’s economy is clearly spreading, even to normally conservative World Bank officials. Last week another World Bank official said he expected Ukraine’s GDP to grow by 5-6% this year, up from a forecast of 1.5-3.5% growth that the bank issued early this year.
