Insurers’ OMTPL premium collection up 86% yoy in 1H08

According to Ukraine’s Driving Insurance Bureau, Ukrainian insurance companies increased obligatory motor third-party liability (OMTPL) insurance premium collection by 86% yoy to USD 124.2 mln in 1H08. The amount of claims paid rose 2.6x yoy to USD 39.9 mln. The number of insurance policies issued increased 85% yoy to 3.14 mln.
