Foreign Trade Balance In Services Reaches USD 1.9 bln in 1H07

According to the State Statistics Committee, the export of services increased 8% yoy to USD 3.8 bln in 6M07, mainly driven by transport services, which accounted for 71.5% of the total exports). Meanwhile, imports grew 22% yoy to USD 2.0 bln to bring the foreign trade balance in services to USD 1.85 bln. Polina Khomenko: Ukraine’s traditional positive balance of trade in services again mitigated some of the deficit in the trade of goods (USD 4.2 bln in 6M07) thus bringing the total foreign trade deficit to USD 2.35 bln in 1H07.
