Azot Severodonetsk Plans To Boost Vinyl Acetate Production

The company began construction of a new vinyl acetate production line in January that will increase its production of the product by 50% to 33 ths mt. Concorde Capital: Azot is currently wrapped up in a legal struggle between the government and Worldwide Chemical LLC. The state intends to sell 100% of Azot Severodonetsk, which would cancel a decision by the previous government to sell 60% of the company to Worldwide Chemical. The latter is defending its ownership in the company. Meanwhile, government officials have given conflicting signals: PM Yulia Tymoshenko included 100% of the company on the government?s privatization list, while First Deputy PM Kinakh hopes a peaceful agreement will be reached that would give Worldwide Chemical a 40% stake in the company.. Azot Severodonetskis Ukraine?s main producer of organic products, third largest ammonia-maker and second largest producer of ammonium nitrate. Last year, Azot Severodonetsk posted the second-largest sales volume after Stirol.
