Cadogan Petroleum (CAD LN: N/R) announced today its new steps to reiterate legitimacy of its Pirkovske and Zagoryanske special permits (licences), which were reportedly challenged by the Poltava Regional Economic Court on June 17 (see our news as of July 24, 22 and 21). The company said it submitted appeals against the June 17 decisions to the Kharkiv Appellate Administrative Court and hearing dates have been set for August 13 (in response of Pirkovske) and 20 (in response of Zagoryanske). According to the company, on August 1 it received an injunction from the Poltava District Administrative Court which prevents its licences from being nullified until the resolution of the administrative case in court. One more step towards protection of Cadogan’s interests in Ukraine is the General Prosecutor of Ukraine’s protest (issued on July 28), stating that the Ministry of Environmental Protection’s actions to annul Cadogan’s licenses are unlawful. The Ministry is required to consider its actions and to report its responses to the General Prosecutor within 10 days.
