Ukrainian Cheese Maker Shostka Gets Permit for Exports to Russia

1 August 2008

The Shostka Milk Plant (SHMZ: N/R), controlled by Bel Group (France) has been included in the list of milk producers allowed to export to Russia. Olha Pankiv: Ukrainian producers of cheese and butter are heavily dependent on the Russian market. The ban on exports of these products last year caused excessive supply on the domestic market. Those with permits to export to Russia are in a clearly beneficial position.
