SSC Confirms 8.0% yoy GDP Growth In 1Q07

The State Statistics Committee confirmed its provisional 1Q07 GDP growth figure of 8% yoy yesterday. GDP growth came in at 7.9% in January-June, driven mainly by agriculture, as the dry summer led to an early harvest. We look for GDP growth to slow slightly in autumn and our yearend forecast is 7.3%.
