Ukraine to receive contracted gas of 55 bcm in 2008

In negotiations with Naftogaz of Ukraine yesterday, Gazprom agreed to supply it with a volume of 55 bcm of gas in 2008, Naftogaz’ press office reported yesterday. Naftogaz said the agreement will allow it to prepare for a deficit free 2008-2009 heating season and secure gas supplies to European countries. Ukraine’s gas balance was 50.3 bcm in 2007 and 49.6 bcm in 2006.
