During his visit to Austria to push Ukraine’s bid for early EU membership, President Viktor Yushchenko announced that Ukraine plans to drop visa requirements for Japanese and Canadian citizens. The President said that he is sure this move will show the world that Ukraine wants to be more open and accessible even at the most basic level. Concorde Capital: Ukraine has made another small step forward in its quest for western integration. The government seems to have learned that losses in visa revenues are paid back 10-fold, by tourist spending and greater international exposure.
