Coal To Be Sold To Thermal Power Plants Via Auctions.

The Cabinet has directed the Fuel and Energy Ministry, the Economics Ministry, the Industrial Policy Ministry, the Antimonopoly Committee, and the Coal Of Ukraine company to sell coal to thermoelectric power stations via auctions by the end of 2005. Concorde Capital: Selling energy coal at auctions will improve the transparency of the coal market and give thermal power plants equal access to coal. This will be especially beneficial for generation companies whose power plants cannot control the quality coal they are supplied with because of their location in relation to coal deposits: Zakhidenergo (ZAEN: HOLD), and Centrenergo (CEEN: HOLD).
