According to Motor Sich (MSICH: BUY) General Director Viacheslav Boguslayev, the company is bidding to have its engines used on the new Sukhoi SuperJet 100. He said that planned French SAM-146 engines do not fit technical requirements, as their thrust is only up to 7 mt, vs. the required 8.0 mt. According to Boguslayev, Motor Sich’s engines could supply a thrust of up to 9.2 mt. Inna Perepelytsya: We perceive Motor Sich’s chances to receive this order as 50/50, but higher if Motor Sich joins the Russian Consolidated Engine-Building Corporation (see our news comment of July 8). Based on the SuperJet’s already inked contracts, we estimate sales from this project for Motor Sich in the sum of USD 325 mln over 3-5 years since start of serial production (for comparison, in 2007 the company’s sales totaled USD 346 mln).
