SCM to sell two brewery plants

Rinat Akhmetov’s System Capital Management (SCM) Group reached a preliminary agreement to sell two of its four brewery plants: Crimea Brewery & Soft Beverages Plant and Dnepr Brewery, Kommersant-Ukraine said yesterday, citing SCM’s press office. SCM did not disclose the acquirer, but according to the article, it is Malturop and Soufflet, Ukrainian subsidiaries of big European malt producers. SCM said the deal is expected to be closed by September. In May, SCM announced it sold a 99.8% stake in its main brewery plant, Sarmat, to SABMiller. Aside from the aforementioned breweries, SCM owns Poltavpivo and Luhansk Brewery.
