Mobile Tariff Surcharges To Grow from 6% To 7.5%.

8 July 2008

The Parliament adopted changes to the state budget, according to which mobile tariffs into to the pension fund will increase to 7.5% from current 6%, but relieved mobile operators of the value-added tax burden. Concorde Capital: We don’t expect the  adjustment of mobile tariffs to have any significant effect on the industry. Before the adoption of this law, combined VAT/PF effect increased tariffs by 27.2%. Now both taxes together will raise tariffs by 27.5%, which adds only +0.3%. So, the final effect of the change in regulations is minimal for mobile operators and consumers, while increasing cash flows to the pension fund.
