As of July 10, local tariffs will increase by 30%-35% while long-distance tariffs will decrease by 20%-70%. From Nov. 1, fixed-to-mobile tariffs will decrease by 20% and monthly fees for fixed-line phones will increase by 15%. Alexander Paraschiy: These changes are beneficial to Ukrtelecom (UTEL: BUY) because they allow the company to increase its revenues from local calls and at the same time to become price-competitive in the long-distance market (see our February 23 report on UTEL). Mobile operators are likely to decrease their long-distance tariffs in response.
