DataGroup Fixed-Line Operator Heading for IPO?

5 July 2008

The privately owned telecommunications company DataGroup announced yesterday that it had acquired Lutsk-based fixed-line provider Fotakom for about $20m. DataGroup has the second-largest trunk network among fixed line operators and is expanding its last-mile network by buying up small regional telecom operators. DataGroup’s CEO Alexander Danilenko said such acquisitions were part of the company’s strategy to increase capitalization before an IPO sometime in the next 3-4 years. Alexander Paraschiy: DataGroup is one of the fastest growing fixed-line operators, having increased its revenue 2.3 times (to $21.4m) in 2005, mainly through acquisitions.
