Banks aggregate earnings up 65% yoy in 5M08

Ukrainian banks increased their aggregate net income 65% yoy to UAH 4.3 bln (USD 0.9 mln) in 5M08, according to the National Bank of Ukraine. In May, the aggregate net income declined 60% mom to UAH 0.4 bln (USD 0.08 bln). Total bank expenditures accelerated 72% yoy to UAH 35.2 bln (USD 7.3 bln) in 5M08, while revenues grew 71% yoy to UAH 39.5 bln (USD 8.1 bln).
