State generation companies increase electricity production 6.3% yoy in 5M08

State-controlled generation companies raised electricity production by 6.3% yoy to 30.9 bln kWh (36.3% of market production) in 5M08, the National Energy Company of Ukraine (NC ECU) reported yesterday. According to the NC ECU, thermal power plants contributed to the growth with a rise in electricity output of 8.2% yoy to 21.8 bln kWh. The NC ECU manages controlling stakes in Dniproenergo (DNEN: BUY), Donbasenergo (DOEN: BUY), Centrenergo (CEEN: BUY), Zakhidenergo (ZAEN: BUY) and Kyivenergo (KIEN: HOLD).
