Electricity & Gas Prices For Non-Industrial Consumers Go Up.

3 May 2008

On May 1 2006, electricity and gas tariffs went up by 25% for households and the housing sector. Concorde Capital: In Ukraine, low residential electricity tariffs are compensated by other electricity consumers. Now the industrial sector will pay USD 270 mln p.a. (or about 2.8 USD/MWh) less to cross-subsidize households. Still, the remaining difference between the fair residential price and new the residential tariff (USD 1.3 bln) will continue to be covered by industrial consumers reflected in their additional tariff burden of 14 USD/MWh. The growth of residential gas tariffs will mean fewer losses for Naftogas Ukrainy.
