Ukraine’s High Administrative Court has banned the publication of the official election results due a lawsuit filed by the Nataliya Vitrenko Block against the CEC. Vitrenko, whose block finished just under the 3 percent barrier, alleges that mistakes in tallying vote and other voting irregularities robbed her party of entering the Rada. Concorde Capital: President Yushchenko has come out in favour of the court’s move, saying that it was Vitrenko’s constitutional right, however, we doubt Vitrenko’s party will make it into the Rada. In any case this move will further delay the opening of the new Rada session and the coalition process. Until the official election results are published there will be no reason for the parties to hurry their talks – good news for both Our Ukraine and the Party of Regions. Our Ukraine is looking for ways to increase its bargaining power with Yulia Tymoshenko and Regions will have more time to try to sell itself as a good partner for Our Ukraine.
